The universe is amazing, awe-inspiring and fuckin’ metal (“Humanity is the centre of the universe and crown of creation” —thinking too small there the hubris of men)! Natural world and beyond, never stop being too great to truly comprehend; never stop inspiring ♥

“Truth is stranger than fiction, because Fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities; Truth isn’t.” -Mark Twain

I think we really have to emphasize the vast distances shown in that picture. Through that tiny space in the sky, the Hubble space telescope viewed thousands of galaxies, each possibly millions of light years in diameter. If to 1 average sized star, an entire living planet is basically irrelevant, what are we to the enormousness of the distances shown? We are an insignificant race, on an insignificant planet, orbiting an insignificant star, in an insignificant galaxy. These vast distances really have a humbling effect, because they’re virtually infinite. Could you wrap your head around the theory that black holes are worm holes to different universes?
